FAQ

Frequently asked questions

1. How much is shipping?
Shipping Australia Wide is FREE or $18 express. Local pickup is available from 2196 Sydney.

2. When will my order be dispatched?
As each candle is made to order, please allow 2-3 business days before your order is complete & ready for dispatch. We will always endeavour to complete your order ASAP.

3. Why soy wax?
Soy wax is a clean burning renewable source of wax that is a by product of the soya bean. Soy wax has a long, slow burn that results in a even melt pool of wax around the wick. This ensures your candle fragrance is evenly released. Natural biodegradable soy wax is also easy to clean out of your jar which makes it easier to repurpose and give your jar another life.

4. How long should I burn my candle for?
Soy candles have a memory! The first time you light your candle, ensure the wax melts to the edges of the jar, usually 4 hours. This creates a memory for all future burns and extends the life of your candle. If you don't do this, your candle can "tunnel", leaving excess unmelted wax around the rim of the jar & goes to waste!

5. Do I need to trim the wick?
Trim your wick to 5mm after every burn. Do not trim the wick too short as that will create smoke and an uneven burn. Trimming your wick also decreases mushrooming at the top of the wick. Mushrooming can be normal and you can simply snip off the end of the wick with a pair of scissors, or pinch it off with your fingers. An untrimmed wick can cause soot build up on your jar. If this occurs, trim the wick to 5mm and wipe off black soot with a paper towel.

6. Can I reuse the jar?
YES!

Once your candle has reached the bottom of the jar, with 1cm of wax left, cleaning it is simple! Pour hot water into the jar to loosen the wax. Once wax has hardened it will float up where you can remove and discard. Never pour wax down the sink. Reuse your jar as a stationary holder, makeup brush holder, or to store any trinkets!
