Candle Care
Make the most out of your candle!
Candles require some love to ensure a clean burn, and great scent throw in your space. Please read the following advice to extend the life of your candle and ensure you get the most out of it.
General tips:
- Trim wick to 5mm before lighting.
- Candles have a memory! Ensure wax melts to the edge of the jar before blowing it out- this will avoid tunneling.
- Never leave candle unattended.
- Keep lit candles away from draughts, ceiling fans and any air currents.
- Do not burn for longer than 4 hours at a time.
Wick care:
Wicks are the backbone of your candle.
Too small & your candle will tunnel, too large and you’ll burn the fragrance off before it can fill the room. At Fleur Candles we only use 100% cotton wicks. Lead free. Zinc free. Copper free. No nasties which means you get the cleanest burn with an even melt pool. Extensive testing has been done to find the perfect wick, all you need to do is pick a fragrance and enjoy your candle!
After your candle is finished:
Once your candle has reached the bottom of the jar, with 1cm of wax left, cleaning it is simple! Pour hot water into the jar to loosen the wax. Once wax has hardened it will float up where you can remove and discard. Never pour wax down the sink. Reuse your jar as a stationary holder, makeup brush holder, or to store any trinkets!
Take care of your candle & it will give you the most fulfilling scent throw
